Rock climbing
Our rock climbing project ran across two fantastic venues — Mile End Climbing Wall and City Bouldering Aldgate — and gave young people aged 7 to 16 the chance to try something completely different for the very first time. For many, it was their first time on a wall, and the experience proved to be both challenging and exhilarating. They learned to trust the equipment, trust their own bodies, and trust the person holding the rope below them.
What surprised us most was how naturally many of them took to it. A number of young people who had never considered themselves sporty discovered they were genuinely good at climbing — strong, balanced, and fearless in ways they hadn't known. The project opened eyes, built confidence, and gave every participant a genuine sense of achievement they carried with them after the project ended.
